ESP Baseball & Softball Training is proud to announce Coach Matt Kelliher as new full-time Pitching Instructor, expanding his role within the ESP development system. Matt will focus his instruction on arm health, sound mechanics, mental toughness, and building a high-level pitching IQ which are core pillars of long-term pitcher development at ESP.
Entering his fourth year with ESP, Matt has established himself as a trusted leader, a detail‑oriented teacher and a steady presence for athletes across multiple age groups. His ability to connect with players, simplify complex concepts and build confidence has made him one of ESP’s most respected up and coming instructors.
Matt’s collegiate playing career began at Joliet Junior College, where he helped lead the Wolves to the NJCAA Division III World Series. He continued his career at Mount Mercy University, pitching during his junior and senior seasons. In 2026, Matt made 13 appearances, posted an impressive 2.08 ERA, and played a key role in helping the Mustangs capture the Heart of America Athletic Conference Baseball Championship. Over his collegiate career, he logged more than 125 innings pitched, competing with consistency and toughness at every level. Matt earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from Mount Mercy University.
As a pitching instructor, Matt brings a development philosophy centered on:
Arm Health & Durability – teaching proper warm‑up routines, recovery protocols, and workload awareness
Sound, Repeatable Mechanics – building efficient movement patterns that reduce stress and increase command
Mental Toughness – helping pitchers handle adversity, stay composed, and compete with confidence
High Pitching IQ – developing situational awareness, pitch sequencing, and understanding how to attack hitters
Matt is dedicated to using the latest technology to create a positive and competitive environment where pitchers can grow, receive hands on data driven feedback, refine their craft and learn how to compete at their highest level. His calm demeanor, attention to detail, and player‑first approach make him a key contributor within ESP’s pitching development pathway.
Please join us in congratulating Coach Matt Kelliher on his expanded role as a Pitching Instructor at ESP Baseball & Softball Training. We are excited for the impact his leadership, experience, and passion for pitching development will have on our athletes for years to come.
