Coach Walsh returns to the ESP Select organization for the 2021 season. Effective fall 2020 - Coach Walsh will be a part of the ESP Select training center, as well as, manage the Summer 2021 - 15U ESP Select Black squad.
Here's some background and general information on Coach Dave Walsh:
- Born and Raised near Midway Airport in SW Chicago
- Entering his 18th year of coaching
- Played OF at the HS, DII, NAIA and Semi-pro levels
- Attended De La Salle HS and Lewis University before graduating from Saint Xavier University in 1993
- Coached (3) Seasons at Montini Catholic HS in Lombard, IL (Chicago Catholic League) (2015, 2019, 2020)
- President, Creator and On-field Manager of 'Hoppers Baseball" Travel Club (aka Plainfield Grasshoppers, Hoppers Elite) in 2009.
- On-field Manager/Trainer with ESP Select for (3) seasons (2014-2017) - All HS age levels....
- Current FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) Moderator at Montini Catholic HS - He has served in that role since 2015
- Sports Stadium Announcer for various NCAA/IHSA sports since 2015
- Avid OCR Competitor (Obstacle Course Racing) since 2016
- Father to two college aged sons
- Lives in Woodridge, IL
- Took an active role in placing student-athletes into numerous college programs over the past (7) years. College contacts & placements include; Dayton, Louisville, Northwestern, U of Chicago, Olivet Nazarene U, U of St. Mary's (MN), Miami (OH), Charleston Southern U, Hope College, U of WI - Parkside, etc....
- Baseball Instruction Specialities; Hitting, INF fielding, OF fielding and the College Recruiting Process
Coach Walsh will begin work with ESP Select this fall.
