ESP is very excited to welcome Abbey Kruzel & Carter Turnquist to our already outstanding ESP Staff.
Abbey joins us after 4 years at Indiana State where she was a successful D1 pitcher. Abbey is a native of the Plainfield area (Plainfield North HS) and played softball locally for many years. Abbey was a 2-time All-Conference Player and was named Captain, Team MVP and Female Athlete of the Year her senior season. In addition, she broke multiple school records. Abbey graduated in May of 2021 and just finished her summer internship with the Kane County Cougars. In addition, Abbey was hired into the front office of the Chicago Wolves. Abbey will focus her attention at ESP on private pitching instruction & on the ESP Elite 15u softball squad where she is assisted by her dad Tony. Abbey resides in Plainfield right near ESP.
Carter joins us from Aurora University where he was a starting rotation pitcher for the last 4 years. Carter began his college baseball career at UW-Oshkosh, but decided to transfer back home after his freshmen year. While at Oswego High School, Carter was voted team MVP after his senior campaign. While at Aurora University, he was extremely busy. During his tenure, they won a conference tournament championship and he appeared in 3 regional tournaments all while he was coaching/giving lessons and training youth baseball teams at multiple levels at a couple facilities in the local area. He graduated in 2020 with a degree in sports management and in 2021 with a Masters in Business Administration. Carter will return to Aurora University as a Coach for the 2022 Spring Season. While at ESP, he will focus his attention on pitching/hitting instruction while being the Head Coach of the 16u Nationals Team. In addition, Carter is Rapsodo-certified and will help us with the future use of Rapsodo Technology. Carter resides in Oswego right near ESP.
